On Friday, President Joe Biden etched his name into the history books by becoming the first American Commander-in-Chief to sign off on cannabis reform legislation. The White House declared that the President had approved the Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research Expansion Act, a bipartisan measure intended to make it simpler for scientific investigators to study the herb.
Moreover, the legislation beseeches the federal government to analyze the potential medicinal advantages of marijuana, possibly facilitating the review of rescheduling which Biden had launched in October.
This bill was co-sponsored by Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-California), and House members with a favorable disposition to marijuana reform, including Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon), Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina), and Dave Joyce (R-Ohio).
